Discover Scuba Diving in an Archaeological Environment

Your first dive in a place where sea and history meet

No diving certification required — suitable for beginners

Do you want to try scuba diving and experience underwater history at the same time?
Our Discover Scuba Diving in an Archaeological Environment program is designed for people without a diving certification who want to make their first dive in a more unique and memorable setting.

This is not a standard introductory dive. In addition to your first underwater experience, you will have the opportunity to dive in an area with an archaeological character, where the sea preserves traces of the past.

What is this program?

Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory dive for beginners. You do not need previous experience or a diving certification.

The program is conducted with an instructor who stays with you throughout the entire experience. Everything begins with a short briefing, after which we enter the water calmly, step by step.

The difference with this offer is that the dive takes place in an archaeological environment — a place connected with the past, maritime history and the traces that human activity has left underwater.

What will you learn before the dive?

Before entering the water, we will give you a short safety briefing and explain how to behave calmly and safely underwater.

We will explain:

  • How scuba diving equipment works
  • How to breathe calmly underwater
  • How to use the mask and regulator
  • How to communicate with the instructor using underwater signals
  • How to move calmly and in a controlled way
  • What to do if you feel discomfort
  • Basic safety rules
  • How to behave in an archaeological environment
  • Why underwater cultural heritage must be protected
  • And other important things that will help you feel calmer and more confident

The archaeological element

During the dive, we do not carry out archaeological excavations and no objects are taken from the seabed. The goal is observation, respect for the environment and an introduction to underwater cultural heritage.

You will see the place through the eyes of a diver and receive a short explanation of the archaeological character of the area — what the visible structures may represent, why they are important and why they must not be moved or touched.

This experience combines a first scuba dive, maritime history and a responsible attitude toward cultural heritage.

How does the dive work?

After the briefing, you will receive full scuba diving equipment. The instructor will help you put it on, check the equipment and make your first entry into the water.

The dive takes place in a calm area suitable for beginners. The route is adapted according to sea conditions, visibility and the comfort of the participants.

The instructor will stay next to you at all times and guide you calmly, so you can enjoy both your first dive and the special atmosphere of the location.

Important

Discover Scuba Diving in an Archaeological Environment is an introductory dive, not a full diving course. After this program, you do not receive an independent diving certification.

During the dive, objects on the seabed are not touched, moved or taken. Everything is observed responsibly and with respect for cultural heritage.

The dive depends on sea conditions. If the conditions are not suitable, the dive may be rescheduled for another day for safety and comfort.
