The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first real step toward independent diving with a buddy.
This course is suitable for people with no previous diving experience who want to learn how to dive properly, calmly and safely.
After successful completion, you receive an internationally recognized PADI certification that allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters with another certified diver, in conditions suitable for your level of training.
What will you learn during the course?

How does the course work?
The course includes theory, practical exercises in a controlled water environment and open water dives.
1. Theory and knowledge development
The first part of the course covers the basic knowledge needed for scuba diving — pressure, breathing underwater, equipment, safety, dive planning and essential diving rules.
The theory can be completed through PADI eLearning, which allows you to study online at your own pace, before or during the practical part of the course.
2. Confined water training
After the theory, we begin the practical training in a calm and controlled water environment. There, you will practise the basic scuba skills step by step, with an instructor next to you throughout the entire session.
The course includes 5 confined water dives / practical sessions, where the basic diving skills are learned and practised before the open water dives.
The goal is to help you feel calm, confident and prepared before entering open water.
3. Open water dives
After you have learned the basic skills, we continue with 4 open water dives in a real open water environment.
During these dives, you will apply what you have learned under the supervision of your instructor and complete your first real certification dives.

Duration
The minimum duration is approximately 4 days, but in most cases the course is completed within 1 – 1.5 weeks, depending on the schedule, sea conditions and the student’s pace.
Practical sessions are usually held in the morning.
After completing the course
After successful completion, you receive the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
With this certification, you can dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters with another certified diver, in conditions suitable for your level of training.
The certification does not expire. However, if you have not dived for a long time, it is recommended to complete a Refresh Dive to review the basic skills and feel more confident underwater.
