PADI Scuba Diver Course – A Fast Way to Your First Diving Certification

Become a certified diver with a shorter training program

A real PADI certification course for beginners with limited time

Do you want to become a certified diver but do not have time for the full Open Water Diver course?
The PADI Scuba Diver course is suitable for people who want an official diving certification, but prefer shorter training and diving under the supervision of a professional.

This is a real certification course, not an introductory dive. After successful completion, you receive an internationally recognized PADI certification that allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters, but only under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

What is PADI Scuba Diver?

PADI Scuba Diver is a shorter certification course and can be considered part of the full PADI Open Water Diver course.

It is a good choice if:

  • You do not have enough time for the full Open Water Diver course
  • You want your first official diving certification
  • You plan to dive mainly with an instructor or dive guide
  • You want to upgrade later to PADI Open Water Diver

After completion, you are not a fully independent diver like an Open Water Diver. Your certification allows you to dive within the training and limits of PADI Scuba Diver — to 12 meters and under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

What will you learn during the course?

During the training, you will build the basic knowledge and skills needed for safe diving under professional supervision.

You will learn:

  • How scuba diving equipment works
  • How to correctly assemble, check and use the equipment
  • How to breathe calmly underwater
  • How to control your buoyancy
  • How to clear your mask underwater
  • How to recover your regulator
  • How to communicate underwater
  • How to use the buddy system
  • How to follow the instructor or guide during the dive
  • Basic safety rules
  • How to react in emergency situations
  • And other important skills that will help you feel calmer and more confident underwater

How does the course work?

The course includes theory, practical exercises in a controlled water environment and open water dives.

1. Theory and knowledge development

The first part of the course covers the basic knowledge needed for scuba diving — pressure, breathing underwater, equipment, safety, planning and rules of behaviour.

The theory can be completed through PADI eLearning, which allows you to study online at your own pace, before or during the practical part of the course.

2. Controlled water training

After the theory, the practical part begins in a calm and controlled water environment. There, you will practise the basic scuba skills step by step, with an instructor next to you throughout the entire session.

The goal is to help you feel calm and prepared before the open water dives.

3. Open water dives

After you have learned the basic skills, we continue with open water dives. There, you will apply what you have learned in a real sea environment under the supervision of your instructor.

The dives are conducted in suitable conditions, depending on the student’s level, weather, visibility and the safety of the location.

What is included in the course?

  • PADI eLearning / theory
  • Training with a PADI Instructor
  • Exercises in a controlled water environment
  • Open water dives
  • Full scuba equipment
  • Tanks and weights
  • International PADI Scuba Diver certification after successful completion
  • A calm pace adapted to the student

What does the certification allow you to do?

After successful completion, you receive the PADI Scuba Diver certification.

With this certification, you can:

  • Dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet
  • Dive only under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional
  • Participate in diving activities when properly supervised
  • Rent or purchase scuba equipment and receive air fills when this is connected with diving under suitable supervision
  • Continue your training later and upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver

Difference between PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver

PADI Scuba Diver is a shorter course, but it has limitations. After this course, you do not dive independently with a buddy without professional supervision.

PADI Open Water Diver is the full beginner course. After completing it, you can dive to 18 meters with another certified diver, in conditions suitable for your training and experience.

If you have more time and want more independence, Open Water Diver is the more complete option. If your time is limited, Scuba Diver is a good first step.

Duration

The course is usually completed within approximately 2 – 3 days, depending on the schedule, sea conditions and the student’s pace.

If necessary, the training can be spread over more days so that everything is conducted calmly and safely.

This course is suitable for you if:

  • You want to dive under the supervision of a professional

If you want to dive with a buddy without professional supervision and to a greater depth, you can later upgrade your training to PADI Open Water Diver.

The practical sessions and dives depend on sea conditions, the safety of the location and the student’s pace.
